Reassignment Qualifications: An employee with one year permanent competitive service as an Office Assistant 3 (Human Resources), Grade 14 is eligible for reassignment to any location where a vacancy exists in the title.
An employee with less than one year permanent competitive service is eligible for reassignment to a different geographic location only if the employee is reachable for appointment in the new location.
Transfer Qualifications: One year of permanent competitive service in titles such as: Accountant Aide, Administrative Aide, Agency Program Aide, Head Mail and Supply Clerk, Keyboard Specialist 3, Legal Assistant 1, Office Assistant 3, Office Assistant 3 (Calculations), Payroll Examiner 1, Payroll Examiner 2, Principal Data Entry Machine Operator, Principal Employment Security Clerk, Secretary 2, Tax Compliance Representative 2 or Unemployment Insurance Accounts Examiner.
Duties Description Standard Duties: As an Office Assistant 3 (Human Resources) you will be responsible for entering and processing various types of personnel transactions using a variety of computer applications such as the New York State Electronic Personnel Management System (NYSTEP), the New York State Benefits Eligibility and Accounting System (NYBEAS), the Human Resources Information System (HRISnet), the Accident Reporting System (ARS) and PayServ (OSC). The Office Assistant 3 (Human Resources) will also respond to inquiries from department employees regarding Human Resources issues, gather and compile information, generate system reports, maintain accurate transaction records and provide general administrative support for Human Resources staff.
