Salary RangeFrom $55747 to $78885 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Open to New York State employees with one year of permanent competitive service as a Assistant Engineer (formerly Civil Engineer 1, Grade 20) or who are eligible to 70.1 transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law. All candidates who have not continuously served in an Assistant Engineer title or that are not NYS employees, must have successfully completed National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
Duties Description Under the general direction of a higher level licensed engineer, performs professional engineering work in the planning, design, inspection, construction supervision, maintenance and technical review and evaluation of roads, bridges, railroads, airport structures, materials, bedrock and geotechnical conditions, waterways, traffic control systems and intersections, and related structures and equipment. In addition, they review consultant and contractor plans and estimate and supervise construction inspection teams.
Additional Comments Parking is provided. The Canal Corporation is recruiting for two openings; one in Construction and one in Design located in Albany NY.
