Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
REASSIGNMENT QUALIFICATIONS: An employee with one year permanent competitive service as an Associate Auditor is eligible for reassignment to any location where a vacancy exists in the title.
An employee with less than one year permanent competitive service is eligible for reassignment to a different geographic location only if the employee is reachable for appointment in the new location.
TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
70.1 Transfer Qualifications: Employees with one year of permanent competitive service as one of the below titles may be eligible to transfer to Associate Auditor pursuant to Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

*Applicants with these titles must submit a copy of their bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a copy of their transcripts for a Bachelor’s degree supplemented by 24 hours in Accounting and/or Auditing.
Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES: As an Associate Auditor in the Office of Special Investigations, the incumbent will direct and perform financial and operational audits, following up on recommendations to determine if corrective actions have been implemented. In this capacity, the incumbent will perform extensive research into the area under audit by reviewing previous audit work papers, pertinent laws and regulations and reports prepared by external organizations. The incumbent will carry out day- to-day operations of the unit by ensuring audits and reports are completed in a timely, accurate and professional manner. The incumbent in a supervisory capacity has a close working relationship with subordinate staff in making assignments, evaluating performance, giving instructions and providing assistance in difficult matters. In this capacity, the incumbent will evaluate by direct observation the review of reports, by comparing performance with accepted standards. Some travel will be necessary in this position. It is expected to be approximately 20%.
