Minimum Qualifications To be considered, candidates must have:

A. Experience

Four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative, consultative or supervisory experience in a mental health program including at least one of the following:

1. One (1) year of satisfactory experience in a position as
administrative head of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.

OR

2. One (1) year of satisfactory supervisory, professional or
administrative experience in the development, operation and/or
implementation of the mental health service delivery system for
State facilities, counties or local/private agencies in two (2) or
more of the following areas: program development, management
procedures, community organization, resource planning,
funding, program proposals, advisory boards, consumer and
community advocacy and intergovernmental relations.

Note: Experience with programs providing services to children or adolescents with emotional disturbances is preferred.

AND

B. Education

A Master's degree in a mental hygiene discipline (including physician assistant, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, speech pathology and audiology, communication disorders, psychology, recreation therapy, rehabilitation counseling, education, nursing), hospital administration, community mental health, business or public administration or other administrative area specifically related to health care, behavioral or social science from an accredited school; or a valid license to practice medicine in New York State or Canada. Current registration or licensure required where applicable.

Additionally, all candidates must be eligible to participate in Federal health care programs (e.g., Medicaid). Individuals excluded from participation in these programs will not be considered.

Duties Description Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 1 - Operations (DDPC 1 Operations) will be part of the Executive Management Team and will be responsible for the facility’s non-medical operational management functions; including inpatient and outpatient treatment programs.
The DDPC 1 Operations will participate in the development of the facility’s short and long range goals; establish policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective service delivery; supervise, coordinate and direct the activities of the subordinate managers in administrative and operational program areas; monitor and oversee staffing, assignments and work schedules to ensure quality patient care; and establish and maintain safe environments for patient care with a focus on cultural competence and community care. In addition, the DDPC 1 Operations will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong, productive relationships with community partners.

NYCCC provides a comprehensive array of behavioral health care services to youth with serious emotional disturbances that help foster recovery and successful functioning in the home, school and community. NYCCC offers a full range of programs and services including inpatient hospitalization, behavioral health clinic, day treatment/intensive day treatment, intensive case management, crisis intervention, learning resource center, community respite, and youth and family support within a safe and therapeutic environment.
