TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
70.1 Transfer: An Employee with one year of permanent competitive service in a qualified title allocated to Grade 12 or higher with an associate’s degree (or higher) in a paralegal/legal assistant program OR a certificate in a paralegal/legal assistant program where either the degree or certificate was granted from a regionally accredited college or university, or college or university accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) or one approved by the American Bar Association (ABA), may qualify for transfer pursuant to Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
70.4 Transfer: Employees with one year of permanent competitive or 55 b/c service at a salary grade 12 or higher, who are on the Legal Assistant 1 eligible list.

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:
Under the general direction of staff attorneys, you would be responsible for preparing and assisting in the preparation of legal documents and forms relating to Labor Standards and Safety and Health cases, conducting research into legal matters, analyzing materials, preparing correspondence, and compiling and organizing documentation. You may interview witnesses and clients, assemble exhibits and briefs, oversee tracking systems, and negotiate and propose preliminary settlements of fines as directed or authorized by staff Attorneys.
