Minimum Qualifications Must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list for Contract Management Specialist 1. No need to apply if on this list as we have canvassed the entire list.
Transfer candidates must have at least one year of permanent competitive service or 55-b/c service as a Contract Management Specialist 1 or be in a position at a grade 16 or above that is eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the Civil Service law.
Duties Description Under the direction of the Division Director, the Program Manager will manage program contracts, and assist with assigned programs to the goals of the Division, Agency and NYS to better coordinate science, technology and manufacturing focused economic development efforts. The Division of Science, Technology & Innovation provides program funding to centers to assist companies at all stages of growth through the innovation/commercialization cycle. This position will work with other divisions, agencies and partners to ensure that division programs are not duplicating services of other publicly funded programs and that they are maximizing New York State’s investment.
• Attending/participating in meetings, tradeshows, conferences, workshop or other events as required.
• Developing documentation for contracting, payment and other internal processes.
• Managing the contracting and payment process for all assigned contracts.
• Overseeing contract performance and financial review of assigned programs/contracts.
• Monitoring metrics and prepare summary reports.
• Discussing and recommending action for improving contract performance with the Division Director.
• Researching and compiling reports regarding innovation and technology
• Developing materials as needed.
• Engaging in regular site visits.
• Traveling within New York State up to 20% is a required of this position.
