Minimum Qualifications Transfer: Current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service as an Office Assistant 2 (G9), OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a position allocated to a salary grade 7 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Provisional: Current NYS Department of Health employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in an office assistant, clerical, or keyboarding title allocated to salary grade 5 or higher. Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate would have excellent clerical, communication and organizational skills; experience with Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets and Outlook; ability to work independently and prioritize multiple assignments; and supervisory experience.

Duties Description The Bureau of Supplemental Food Programs, Fiscal Management Section (FMS) provides fiscal oversight, contract management and infrastructure support to the Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). WIC provides breastfeeding support, nutrition counseling, health education, health care referrals, referrals to other services, and nutritious foods to approximately 470,000 women, infants and children each month through 92 local providers (hospitals, local health departments and community based organizations) at 400 service sites. The incumbent will be part of the Site Development team responsible for WIC local agency site development and computer infrastructure support. Responsibilities include: maintaining the WIC Statewide Information System (WICSIS) supplies and equipment inventories; compiling information and placing a monthly WICSIS supply order; responding to equipment and inventory related help-desk tickets; shipping and receiving equipment and supplies for Central Office and WIC local agencies. Additional duties include attending weekly site development meetings for all relocating sites and new WIC site development and participating in workgroups related to the development of the next generation of WIC management information system (NYWIC).

Additional Comments Permanent, Full-time. Occasional travel to locations that may not be served by public transportation is required. provisional candidates will be required to take and pass the next holding of the Civil Service Office Assistant 2 examination, currently scheduled for October 28, 2017, and be immediately eligible for appointment from the resultant eligible list to maintain continued employment as an Office Assistant 2.
