Minimum Qualifications Business Systems Analyst 1, SG18
Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as a Business Systems Analyst 1, SG18; OR in a position at the SG16 level or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second, consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two grades.

Employees with one year of permanent competitive service in a position SG16 or above and who possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, are active on the Professional Careers Opportunities (PCO) eligible list, and meet the required minimum qualifications listed for the select job title on the PCO page: http://www.cs.ny.gov/pco/title-details/title-info.cfm?jobcode=0816100&type=Select may be eligible to transfer to the SG18 level under Section 70.4 of Civil Service Law.

Business Systems Analyst Trainee, NS
Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as a Business Systems Analyst Trainee, NS; OR in a position eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second, consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two grades.

Candidates with at least one year of permanent competitive service in a title allocated to SG11 or higher and who have standing on the PCO eligible lists; OR candidates with a bachelor’s degree and who are active on the PATT eligible list, may be eligible for transfer to the Trainee level under the provisions of Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law.

Candidates eligible for consideration under the Governor's Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55-b/c of the Civil Service Law will also be considered. Individuals certified eligible for the 55-b/c program must possess a bachelor's degree to meet the education qualifications for the traineeship, or possess a bachelor’s degree and meet the required minimum qualifications listed for the select job title on the PCO page: http://www.cs.ny.gov/pco/title-details/title-info.cfm?jobcode=0816100&type=Select for consideration for the SG18 level. Salary range above applies to candidates appointed to Business Systems Analyst 1, SG18. The hiring rate for candidates appointed to Business Systems Analyst Trainee starts at $40,507 and is based on the candidate's salary at the time of hire. Candidates hired into the traineeship will be advanced to Business Systems Analyst 1 title upon the successful completion of a two-year traineeship.
