Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree AND three years of experience in a public or private organization in the area of policy development, provision of technical assistance, development or implementation of early childhood education or human services programs and/or development or implementation of grants and procurements.
Duties Description The New York State Education Department’s Office of Early Learning is seeking candidates to fill a Project Assistant position. This Office is responsible for a wide range of educational programs and works closely with parents, early care and education agencies, schools and state agencies to coordinate programs and resources with the goal of making New York’s early learning system as comprehensive and seamless as possible. Under the general direction of the Project Coordinator, the incumbent will oversee the implementation of initiatives under the federal Prekindergarten Expansion Grant. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Manage data and develop reports to inform decision-making and policy development of the prekindergarten program;
• Provide key program technical support including developing web-based and printed resources;
• Assist school districts in completing contracts and providing contractual support and assistance;
• Provide remote and onsite technical assistance to the school district sub-grantees in the implementation of the prekindergarten program, consistent with grant goals and objectives;
• Assist with the implementation of professional development consistent with the grant program and requirements;
• Assist sub-grantee school districts in aligning the Prekindergarten Development Expansion grant program with other prekindergarten programs under the Office of Early Learning to ensure program sustainability; and
• Work with collaborative partners to ensure that all grant deliverables are met.
Additional Comments CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This will be a temporary appointment.
* Leads to a maximum salary of $86,398 based on annual performance advances.
