This is an applied teaching position with preference given to applicants that demonstrate the enthusiasm and potential to be an excellent teacher and are prepared to lead undergraduate research projects within their specialty.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the full range of duties within the department including academic advisement, internship supervision, assessment, service, scholarship, and professional development.

The Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics is a collaborative department of 15 full-time faculty and 3 support staff who are committed to high quality applied undergraduate education. Department members share the teaching philosophy that students learn best by doing, therefore laboratories and research projects are "hands-on". The typical faculty teaching load is 25 contact hours per year. Teaching may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and online. Our facilities include ten teaching and research labs that were expanded and upgraded in 2011.

The department currently enrolls approximately 125 undergraduates in the following areas: Paramedic (Certificate and AAS), Histotechnician (AAS), Science (AS), Health Science Studies (AS), Fermentation Science (BS), Applied Fermentation (BT) and Biotechnology (AAS & BS). Additionally, we offer several minors in physical science and math and educate students from almost all degree areas on campus.
