Minimum Qualifications Current Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent competitive status as a Health Systems Specialist 1, G-18 OR New York State Employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent permanent service as a Health Program Administrator, Medical Assistance Specialist 1, Management Specialist 1, Management Specialist 1 (SL) or Standards Compliance Analyst 1 (DD) and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of long-term care issues, with an emphasis on nursing homes; familiarity with health care certification, licensure or surveillance programs; experience with the New York State Electronic Certificate of Need (NYSE-CON) process; strong communication and organizational skills.
Duties Description This position in the Division’s Bureau of Nursing Home Licensure and Certification performs a multitude of tasks including but not limited to: programmatic review of Certificate of Need (CON) applications for skilled nursing facilities; review of surveillance documents and enforcement actions for skilled nursing facilities.
Additional Comments Permanent, full-time.
