Minimum Qualifications Transfer: Current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service as a Secretary 1, OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a position allocated to a salary grade 9 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Provisional: Current NYS Department of Health employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service as a Keyboard Specialist 1, Keyboard Specialist 1 (Spanish Language), Keyboard Specialist 2, Keyboard Specialist 2 (Spanish Language), Law Department Document Specialist Trainee 1, Law Department Document Specialist Trainee 2, Law Department Document Specialist, Data Entry Machine Operator, Data Entry Machine Operator (Spanish Language), or Senior Data Entry Machine Operator.

Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets and Outlook. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple assignments.

Duties Description The Secretary 1 will provide administrative support for the Bureau of Community Enrollment and Stakeholder relations within the Office of Health Insurance Programs, Division of Eligibility and Marketplace Integration. Responsibilities may include: coordinating and arranging meetings; transmitting instructions to staff and following up; handling telephone calls and visitors and responding to questions; and other administrative tasks necessary to support the work of the Bureau.

Additional Comments Permanent, Full-time. Transfer candidates not currently serving in a keyboarding title will be required to take and pass a keyboarding examination to qualify for appointment. Provisional candidates will be required to take and pass the next holding of the Civil Service Secretary 1 examination and be eligible for immediate appointment from the resultant eligible list to maintain continued employment as a Secretary 1.
