Salary RangeFrom $41795 to $51021 Annually
Minimum Qualifications In order to be considered for appointment, candidate must have four (4) years of full time experience in a trade under a skilled journey level position which would provide training equivalent to that given in an apprenticeship program. Apprentice training in a trade or training gained by the completion of a technical course in a trade school or institute may be substituted for the above experience on a year for year basis. Candidates eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law will be considered as well. This position will require travel to provide services to all locations within Region 10. Travel may also be required to provide service to other Regions based upon the Department operational needs. Candidate must be able to lift heavy items and perform duties from heights; confined space entry may be required. Candidate may also be required to wear a self contained breathing apparatus. Candidate must have an emphasis in their experience in plumbing, electrical and heating code.
In addition the chosen candidate will be expected to attend training and become certified in the following a(classes my possibly be held at non-traditional work hours):
- Confined Space
- Asbestos Removal
- Backflow Prevention
- Lift Equipment
- Other Safety and Health related coursework
Duties Description Working knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the trades to which assigned. Working knowledge of applicable standards and plumbing and electrical code regulations. Working knowledge of safety standards and procedures. Ability to use tools, machines, equipment and materials of the craft or crafts to which assigned. Ability to read plans, specifications, manuals and blueprints. Ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor. Ability to understand and carry our written and oral instructions. Ability to plan and lay our work and diagnose problems. Ability to train and supervise other. Ability to climb ladders and work at heights on scaffolds and platform. As assigned, ability to operate a motor vehicle
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
