Minimum Qualifications In order to be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.
Duties Description This position is located in the Expenditures unit. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Managing employees in the Voucher and Travel Units of the Accounting Bureau;
Overseeing Expenditures operations – including payments for M&O vouchers, reviewing land claim payments, processing refunds of appropriation and travel payments; writing, updating and posting appropriate Manual of Administrative Procedures (MAPS), processing complicated transactions;
Assessing and analyzing processes and troubleshoot problems; deriving and implementing solutions with minimal instruction;
Serving as Statewide Financial System Security Administrator and Transaction Workflow Administrator;
Serving as Statewide Financial Training Coordinator;
Representing Accounting Bureau for Statewide Incident Command Center (STICC) as Finance Section Chief;
Liaison for Accounting Bureau with Grants Gateway project;
Participating in miscellaneous assignments such as the on-boarding of NYSDOT to the Statewide Financial System.
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
