Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be employed by New York State to be eligible to apply for this position. Candidates must currently be permanent as a Mental Health Program Specialist 2 and eligible for a lateral transfer OR have one year of permanent service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Mental Health Program Specialist 2, G-23 position in the Division of Adult Services, Bureau of Rehabilitation Services & Care Management. The incumbent of this position will perform a full range of program activities including an oversight role in monitoring Rehabilitation Programs.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide training and technical assistance to PROS (Personalized Recovery Oriented Services) programs, agencies that offer HCBS (Home and Community Based Services) and other program types as needed.
• Collaborate and coordinate with numerous OMH departments that may include Field Office staff, Budget staff, Managed Care Division, Licensing and other staff as well as counties on ongoing policy and program planning.
• Promote rehabilitation and recovery principles and best practices among various program types. • Participate in the ongoing review and monitoring of program quality of Rehabilitation programs and services. Assist with assignments, initiatives assigned to or created by Bureau.
• Monitor outcome data related to Rehabilitation program and service types.
• Assist with monitoring and tracking of consultant contracts and project-related information.
