Minimum Qualifications Preferred qualifications: Experience in maintenance, construction or landscape work; preferable in public recreation facilities. Should have general knowledge in plumbing, electrical and automotive maintenance and some minor carpentry experience. Should be familiar with a Point of Sale revenue system and have knowledge of operation and maintenance of chlorinated water system. Should be acquainted with Reserve America Reservation system.
Duties Description Will be required to work all weekends and holidays during period of employment; do manual work such as picking up litter, raking, pushing lawnmowers, digging ditches, climbing roofs to sweep pine needles and leaves, cleaning comfort stations, rest rooms and buildings; operating a chainsaw, running a chipper, or aiding in removing brush and or firewood; move canoes and rowboats; clean toilets; communicate with others and accept direction; conducted in a safe manner, with any injuries/illnesses reported immediately to supervisor; provides patrons with information regarding park facilities and use; handle complaints or inquiries from park patrons regarding the quality of their experience, the cleanliness of facilities, noise from other facility users, and other related customer service issues; perform duties in the Campground Recycle Center such as process refuse, deposit containers and recyclables in accordance with state, county and town laws, handle and account for money and complete necessary Revenue Reports; and operating a personal computer.
Additional Comments Must have valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Use of personal protection equipment, including respirator, will be required. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain and/or work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds. Must Reside in State Housing.
Work schedule and hours will be discussed at interview. This is a temporary position with a duration of 4/26/18 to 10/31/18.
