Minimum Qualifications • One year experience in grounds keeping, particularly mowing
• Applicant must be physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Applicants must possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license.

Duties Description Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the seasonal maintenance assistant is responsible for grounds keeping and general facility maintenance, particularly mowing and outdoor work.
• Employee operates and performs landscape maintenance using a variety of hand and power-driven mechanical equipment including trucks, mowers, and line trimmers.
• Employee maintains the Preserve’s 32 miles of historic carriage road system by removing fallen trees, pruning low branches, spreading crushed stone, cleaning drainage systems, weedwacking trail shoulders, blowing leaves, digging invasives, and cutting vines.
• Employee assists with cleaning and maintenance of the office, gallery, and restrooms, park operations and traffic control, as needed.
• Employee periodically assists with maintenance and operations at other State Park facilities as needed.

Additional Comments Operational needs:
• Employee must be able to operate and perform routine maintenance on a variety of power-driven mechanical equipment including trucks, mowers, and line trimmers.
• Applicants must be available to work occasional weekends and holidays.
• Demonstrated initiative and willingness to pitch in
