Minimum Qualifications Applicants must have taken and passed a NYS Civil Service examination and be reachable off the Civil Service eligible list.

Duties Description SUNY Empire State College, Office of Student Accounts, seeks an Office Assistant 2 (Calculations) at our Coordinating Center in Saratoga Springs.
The Office Assistant 2 (Calculations) in Student Accounts will be responsible for assisting with critical areas of regulatory adherence such as New York State residency determinations, IRS required outreach for student social security numbers, financial graduation clearances, regularized quality control reports and storage of electronic documents. This staff member will also assist with processing refunds within federal and state guidelines.
The ability to analyze account transactions, maintain accuracy and identify anomalies in large volumes of data is essential. Other necessary skills include data tracking, working within regulatory deadlines and being able to prioritize multiple responsibilities. Professional communication skills are vital, as the position requires interaction with students and the college community by phone, e-mail and in person.
This staff member will assist in the development and use of reports to monitor office processes to maintain high quality standards of Student Accounts' office functions, including proactive quality control error reports prior to account review for graduating students.
Student Accounts is dedicated to continuous improvement of our service to students by maximizing our technology and resources. The successful candidate should have an aptitude for learning new computer applications quickly and efficiently.
The incumbent will work closely with culturally diverse faculty, staff and students in a multicultural learning work environment.
