Minimum Qualifications Permanent status as an Addictions Program Specialist 3, G-25 and interested in reassignment; OR reachable for permanent appointment on the current Civil Service eligible list for Addictions Program Specialist 3; or eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law (i.e., Addictions Program Specialist 2).
Duties Description The Addictions Program Specialist 3 serves as the Assistant Director of the Bureau of Certification and performs a variety of activities associated with the issuance of Provider Certifications and Operating Certificates. Duties include but are not limited to: representing the Bureau in the development of new agency priorities/initiatives; developing applications/attestations associated with these priorities/initiatives in accord with applicable laws and regulations; developing new processes to be used in the receipt, review, approval and issuance of appropriate approval documentation; overseeing the processing of applications associated with the new initiatives; reviewing and approving certification applications and issuance of appropriate approval documentation; interacting with applicant’s/agency staff during the course of the review process; preparing/analyzing statistical reports; overseeing processing of existing Inter-Agency (DOH, OMH, OASAS) initiatives, including Integrated Outpatient Services (IOS) and Delivery System Reform Incentive Program (DSRIP 3ai) projects; overseeing the receipt, review, and approval of certification applications, and issuance of appropriate approval documentation regarding these initiatives; interacting with applicants and other agencies during the course of the review process; attending Intra-Agency/Inter-Agency meetings; maintaining SharePoint Integration site; processing the most difficult/complicated Certification applications; providing preliminary review and approval of Application Staff Summary and Recommendation; and supervising Bureau staff.
