Duties Description Position Summary:
This is an evening, Sunday-Thursday, 4:00 pm to Midnight position during the academic year. During summers and breaks, this position works 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. This position provides support to circulation desk and its customers.
Essential Functions:
•Provides service to walk-up, e-mail and telephone patrons; and assists general directional questions.
•Runs reports through the library’s Aleph system that tracks the catalog and circulation of items. Many data reports are generated from this Aleph system.
•Investigates and follows-up with overdue book accounts, missing material, and Banner blocks.
•Hires, trains, schedules, supervises and evaluates student workers.
•Provides evaluation input to supervisors for desk workers.
•Processes, organizes and maintains library materials.
•Manages, processes, and maintains Reserve processes.
•Assists in the continual improvement and correction of cash handling procedures for the library.
Minimum Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
•Uses Microsoft Office with ease, particularly Excel.
•Is able to learn new software and keep current technologically.
•Is proficient at problem solving and troubleshooting.
•Maintains high attention to detail.
•Works well independently.
•Maintains motivation, even during repetitive tasks.
•Is highly organized.
•Has previous library experience and previous supervisory experience.
