70.1 TRANSFER TO SR. EMPLOYMENT SECURITY CLERK (SPANISH LANGUAGE) QUALIFICATIONS: Department of Labor employees with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in an appropriate title allocated to Grade 7 or higher may qualify for transfer pursuant to Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

SECTION 55-b/c EMPLOYEES QUALIFICATIONS: Department of Labor employees with one year of permanent non-competitive service pursuant to Section 55-b/c of the Civil Service Law, may be eligible for a new 55-b/c appointment to this position if they meet the technical requirements for transfer pursuant to Civil Service Law 70.1 as stated above.

To be considered for appointment you will be required to pass a Civil Service language examination to demonstrate proficiency in Spanish language at a level that will ensure your ability to perform the duties of the position

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:

As a Sr. Employment Security Clerk (Spanish Language), you would perform general clerical duties associated with Unemployment Insurance (UI) fraud investigations; correspond with claimants and employers via mail and telephone to assist with fraud investigations, and handle all clerical aspects of issuing determinations to claimants; provide Spanish language translation as needed.
