70.4 Transfer: a NYS employee with at least one year of permanent, competitive service in a position allocated to salary grade 11 or higher and a passing score on the Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) or Public Administration Transition Test (PATT) and:
a bachelor's degree or higher including or supplemented by 24 semester credit hours in statistics, biostatistics, computer science, economics/econometrics, mathematics, operations research or research methods.
Applicants for 70.4 transfer must provide college transcripts, which document how they meet the above reference educational qualifications. ** In order to be considered for 70.4 transfer all transfer criteria referenced above must be met.
Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:
As a Statistician/Trainee you will prepare and analyze statistical date used to evaluate programs. Statisticians assist in survey data collection and data cleaning/refinement, as well as the production of statistics (such as occupational safety and health incidence rates) for New York State according to the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) guidelines. Data are produced and validated (insuring data quality) within specified timeframes. Anomalies and trends are identified and described. You will respond to requests for information in a professional and prompt manner.
