Minimum Qualifications Reachable on the current Civil Service list for this title, or one year of permanent competitive class service as a Senior Attorney. 52.6 transfers may be considered only if you have passed the New York State Bar exam.

Duties Description The incumbent, assigned to the New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) New York City District Office, will be engaged in and expected to perform duties and tasks related to the New York Workers' Compensation Law, no-fault law, wrongful death claims and actions, third-party practice, Disability Benefits Law, Volunteer Firefighters Benefit Law, and accidental injury and occupational disease claims.

The specific tasks and duties related to the above will be to perform case review and analysis, research and analysis, preparation of advisory memoranda, engage in discovery and depositions and/or examinations before trial, motion practice, case preparation for trials before administrative agency (Workers' Compensation Board), litigation, settlement negotiations, preparation for and attendance at arbitration proceedings, preparation of appeals including administrative and court appeals, drafting briefs and presenting appellate arguments.
