Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Candidates must be reachable on the Civil Service List for this title.
• Candidates must have permanent status as a Secretary 2, Grade 15, and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law by having one year of permanent 55b/c service in a qualifying title within two salary grades of the Grade 15 level.
• Candidates who are not transferring from a keyboarding title must possess adequate keyboarding skills (i.e., the ability to type 30 words per minute with at least 96% accuracy) as demonstrated by passing the Keyboard Performance Test.
• Candidates should be knowledgeable in Microsoft office, including Excel.
Duties Description JOB DUTIES:
The Secretary 2 will work directly for the DDRO Region 4 Director. Duties include but may not be limited to the following:
• Perform a variety of tasks which enable managers and program staff to accomplish the mission of the agency;
• Review incoming correspondence and draft responses where appropriate;
• Review outgoing correspondence;
• Research background information;
• Transmit instructions to staff and conduct follow-up;
• Handle telephone calls and visitors and respond to questions;
• Coordinate and arrange meetings;
• Make travel arrangements
• Establish office procedures;
• Design, set-up and maintain office filing systems (including electronic);
• Resolve day-to-day operational problems;
• Coordinate information flow by acting as liaison among key executives, staff and other employees and the public;
• Operate equipment which requires skilled use of a standard keyboard to produce correspondence, reports and other agency documents;
• Other duties as assigned.
