Minimum Qualifications Transfer Qualifications: Any permanent Pharmacy Aide
Any permanent employee eligible for a 70.1 transfer.
Anyone eligible to take the Civil Service examination for Pharmacy Aide

Provisional Appointment: In the event that there is not a valid eligible list, candidates who meet the qualifications below may be qualified for a provisional appointment.
Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma, or a high school equivalency diploma issued by an appropriate educational authority. In addition, one year of experience assisting with the filling of medical prescriptions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist is also required. Applicants must also possess a valid NYS driver's license appropriate for the vehicle assigned at locations where a motor vehicle is used in the transport of medication.
Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Clerical duties associated with managing inventories and ordering pharmaceutical supplies and equipment.
• Maintains inventories, orders medications and supplies.
• Receives deliveries and verifies contents to packing slips.
• Makes routine deliveries of medications and supplies.
• Verifies and counts medications.
• Performs light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Maintains and cleans equipment used in the pharmacy.
• Takes phone calls, communicates and clarifies discrepancies.
• Assists Licensed Pharmacist in pharmacy operations and other duties as assigned.
• Files pharmacy drug reviews and other records.
• Checks inventories for outdated medications/supplies, maintains expiration dates to ensure compliance. Under the direction of the pharmacist, removes and/or destroys medications following established procedures or arranges for proper exchange or credit.
• Other duties as assigned.
