Minimum Qualifications • High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in the hospitality industry including food and beverage service, front office, auditing or financial work
• Inspector experience in food industry or related field, preferred but not required
• Valid NYS driver’s license
Duties Description Seasonal position requiring 32-40 hours per week from June through August (approximately 12 weeks). Working on weekends may be required. Day travel to State parks and historic sites to inspect food and beverage, lodging, golf and other NYSOPRHP Concession Operations.
The Inspector will be required to become familiar with State sanitary codes and proper inspection and audit procedures. Inspection training will be provided. The Inspector will coordinate, schedule and perform inspections of park concessions. The Inspector will be responsible for conducting inspections and preparing reports that document compliance with the Public Health laws and the State Sanitary Code in settings such as: food service establishments (restaurants), hotels, campgrounds, swimming pools, bathing beaches, golf courses and marinas. Follow up inspections may be required to assure that noted problems have been corrected within proper time limits and in a proper fashion.
Additionally, the Inspector may be required to check on all areas and stipulations in the concession contract including, but not limited to: quality and quantity of merchandise, hours of operation, price regulation, cash management, maintenance, accessibility, compliance with sales tax laws and customer service.
Additional Comments The hourly rate is $14.67 per hour plus travel expenses.
