Minimum Qualifications Active list candidate on the New York State Department of Civil Service’s Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) eligible list #26-240 with a score of 100.0 or higher OR qualified 55B/C candidate in possession of a Bachelor’s or higher degree.
The preferred candidate would have experience with the Statewide Financial System, the Grants Gateway, contract management, development and implementation of program policies and procedures, and strong data collection and analytical skills. Good writing and communication skills are essential.
Duties Description The Fiscal Management Section (FMS) is responsible for the fiscal oversight and management of the New York State (NYS) Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). Currently, the NYS WIC program serves a monthly caseload of approximately 425,000 participants through 91 local WIC agency contracts valued at $134 million. The successful candidate will be responsible for WIC local agency contract management, contract renewals and contract budget review. Review of monthly requests for reimbursement and monitoring local agency compliance with WIC policy and federal regulations. Will provide support to staff within the unit with data collection, federal reporting and other assignments as needed. This position may supervise staff within the unit.
Additional Comments Permanent or contingent-permanent, full-time. Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional travel within New York State, including overnights and to locations that may not be served by public transportation, is required.
