Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list (PATT or PCO) or be eligible to 52.6 transfer. To qualify for a permanent appointment under Section 52.6, candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in a title designated as 52.6 transfer eligible. To qualify for a permanent appointment under Section 70.1, candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in a title designated as 70.1 transfer eligible.

Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Human Resource Specialist 1 you may be responsible for the performance of various personnel activities such as position classification, recruitment, placement, and employee services for the purpose of staffing, developing, and maintaining an adequate and competent work force. You may also assist in employee relations and staff development programs. Typically, incumbents are generally responsible for a significant segment of the overall agency personnel program and, under policy direction and guidelines, facilitate in the planning, organizing, conducting, and coordinating of personnel activities to attain specific objectives.

As a Human Resources Specialist Trainee, you would participate in a 2-year traineeship. At the successful conclusion of your traineeship, you would advance without further examination to Human Resources Specialist 1, Grade 18.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Communicate well both orally and in writing and ability to multi-task. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access and Power Point.
