Minimum Qualifications Reachable on the current Civil Service list for the title being canvassed or one year of permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer via Section 52.6 or Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Titles eligible for transfer include, but are not limited to: Administrative Assistant, Budget Examiner, Contract Management Specialist 1, Human Resources Specialist 1, Payroll Analyst 1, Senior Administrative Analyst, Training Specialist 1, Workforce Programs Specialist 1.
Please note that applicants who are eligible via 70.1 transfer must also meet special requirements to be appointed in this position.
Successful completion of a two year traineeship leads to appointment as a Business Systems Analyst 1, SG-18.

Duties Description Incumbent will work closely within the Fraud Prevention Unit and with other stakeholders to define and develop requirements for the Division of Confidential Investigations.
Under the Supervision of a Project Manager 1, the Business Systems Analyst 1 will work as a liaison between stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Utilizing data mining techniques and interpret raw data to identify hidden fraud patterns.
• Experience with analytical systems and creating visual link analysis charts to report findings.
• Knowledge of Structured Query Language to manage tables in relational databases.
• Create strategic or technical written reports and communicate actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
