Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be in title, eligible for 70.1 transfer, or reachable from the Civil Service Eligible List for this title. Provisional appointment may be considered. To be eligible for provisional appointment candidates must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as follows:
Either A. one year as a Nurse Administrator 1 or Nurse Administrator 1 (Psychiatric);
Or B. two years in any other Grade 18 or higher position that requires a license and current New York State registration as a Registered Nurse.

Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This Nurse Administrator 2 oversees nursing services for a large number of individuals who receive services from OPWDD. This involves direct or indirect supervision of professional and clinical staff. Responsibilities include ensuring implementation of facility and agency policies and procedures related to nursing, initiating special investigations, scheduling staff, directing staff, teaching appropriate nursing techniques, and reviewing individuals' records for compliance with agency practice/protocol and developing a plan for correcting any deficiencies found.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Function in the role of a Nursing Administrator 2
• Other duties as assigned including participation and/or chairing of committees/work groups
