QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with NYS Department of Health (DOH) and Health Research Incorporated (HRI) fiscal, procurement, personnel and other administrative processes. Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced office and prioritize multiple assignments. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint. Familiarity with the B-1184 process and the Statewide Financial System (SFS).
Duties Description The Health Program Administrator (HPA) will work in the Division of Epidemiology, and will be part of a team responsible for a variety of fiscal, personnel, administrative and operational management functions. The HPA will be a liaison between the Division’s four Bureaus and Statistical unit, and will contribute to assignments from the Center for Community and other offices within DOH and HRI; assist with various fiscal activities, including reviewing and processing vouchers, monitoring cash flow and spending for various funding sources, and preparing and analyzing reports; assist with personnel activities, including updating and analyzing various staffing reports, preparing duties descriptions, tracking the completion of mandated training and performance evaluations; and assist with the planning of large meetings and/or conferences. The incumbent will also assist with the coordination and compilation of responses to assignments and requests for information related to space plans, travel, and other administrative management functions; provide technical assistance and guidance to programs; update and maintain tracking systems and procedural guidance; and assist with special projects and other administrative tasks, as needed.
Additional Comments Permanent, full-time. Occasional travel, including overnights and travel to areas that may not be served by public transportation is required.
