Experience in managed care and/or pharmacy benefits management. Knowledge of pharmacy utilization management practices, formulary evaluation and drug rebate programs. Strong analytical skills are required in order to evaluate large amounts of clinical and/or financial data. Strong presentation skills. Comprehensive knowledge of Medicaid managed care and fee-for-service pharmacy programs including but not limited to drug utilization review (DUR) and formulary and preferred drug list (PDL) development. Experience with the activities of a Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and/or Drug Utilization Review Board and presenting information to stakeholder groups. Strong organizational and follow-up skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Duties Description The position will report to the Pharmacy Formulary and Operations Manager. Specific duties include: research, analyze, develop criteria, implement, manage and preform quality assurance review of Medicaid pharmacy formulary based on existing law/regulation or changes in federal and State pharmacy law/regulations; communicate and work with Medicaid Managed Care plans to ensure consistent delivery of benefit; contribute to provider, recipient and internal staff communications, including the Medicaid Update; respond in writing or verbally to providers, recipients, government officials and internal contacts; research, analyze and implement Pharmacy budget initiatives. In addition, it is expected that the incumbent will assist in the support of day-to-day formulary systems management while working closely with Pharmacy Policy and Clinical Review and Utilization Management counterparts.
