Minimum Qualifications Current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service as an Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding) (G9), OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a position allocated to a salary grade 7 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. In order to be appointed to the Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding), you must have passed/or pass a keyboarding performance test.
Excellent data entry, clerical and organizational skills; experience with Microsoft word and outlook; ability to work independently and prioritize multiple assignments.
The Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding) will be responsible for performing data entry and verification of demographic and testing information on environmental samples and clinical specimens submitted for laboratory analysis. Will also be responsible for tracking, logging, and scanning sample/specimen history forms; printing and mailing reports; answering/handling telephone calls and requests from program staff and submitting facilities.
