Minimum Qualifications Eligible for a 70.1 transfer (current NYS employees) OR Reachable on the Beginning Office Assistant eligible list OR 55 b/c eligible. (if 55 b/c eligible please include a copy of your eligibility letter).
Duties Description The Office Assistant 1 is assigned to the Employment Records Unit and is responsible for the following:
• Developing working knowledge of the Eligible List Management System (ELMS), and the New York State Electronic Personnel System (NYSTEP) to facilitate processing of personnel transactions.
• Responding and providing guidance to a variety of agency personnel, candidate and employee requests regarding status on eligible lists, certifications, results of list canvassing and eligibility for appointment.
• Providing clerical, administrative and office support including data entry, records maintenance, transaction processing and information retrieval and verification.
Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.
