Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled journey level person which would provide training equivalent to that given in an apprenticeship program. Apprenticeship training in a trade or training gained by the completion of technical courses in a school or institute may be substituted for the above experience on a year-for-year basis.

This position may require travel within the campus, between campuses and off campus. The successful candidate must demonstrate their capacity to meet the transportation needs of the position.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates should have experience in organizing and assigning work tasks and monitoring work flow. They should also have experience in ordering and organizing parts and supplies. This position may require travel within the campus, between campuses and off-campus. A valid license to operate a motor vehicle in NYS is preferred.

Duties Description Campus Living is seeking two General Mechanics to perform journey level work in at least one trade and skilled level work in a combination of trades. These positions may oversee the work of other maintenance staff and must have the ability to train others and provide informational and constructive feedback. Knowledge and experience are expected in the areas of:

• Plumbing
• HVAC
• Carpentry
• Masonry
• Electrical
• Allied trades

To be successful in this position, you will need to have the working knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in a variety of trades, as well as the ability to interpret diagrams and blueprints. Working knowledge of applicable building code standards and plumbing and electrical code regulations are required. Candidates will be expected to explain and demonstrate their skills and competency for these positions. To be a successful candidate, you must be able to understand and follow directions/instructions, have the ability to plan/layout work, diagnose problems, communicate and work well with others, and provide excellent customer service. Since the activities of other employees depend upon the availability of the employees in these positions, reliable attendance is a factor that will be considered when filling these vacancies.
