Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: OPEN-COMPETITIVE: Bachelor’s Degree in a human service field and four years of professional experience providing vocation, psychosocial or rehabilitative/habilitative services in an agency primarily serving individuals diagnosed with mental retardation, developmental disabilities, mental illness or addictions. A Master’s Degree in a human service field may substitute for two years of the qualifying experience. A Master’s Degree in rehabilitation counseling may substitute for four years of the qualifying experience.

PROMOTION: One year of permanent service as a Rehabilitation Counselor 1.

Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Rehabilitation Counselor 2 will perform the following duties:
• Assist the Program Director in the management of the program
• Will meet with the Program Director weekly, to discuss program activities, incidents, staff performance, etc.
• Will meet weekly with the Developmental Assistant 3 (supervises the CSEA/DSA) and the Habilitation Specialist 2 (supervises the habilitation Specialist 1/PEF) to discuss service compliance, program activities, Hab Spec/DSA work performance, staff trainings, etc.
• Will be responsible to make daily classroom rounds
• Daily monitoring of data entries, service compliance and inclusions
• Closely monitors treatment records to ensure compliance in Daily Habilitation documents
• Chairs and oversees semi/annual ISP meetings
• Supervises and monitors work performance of all staff
• Ensures timely submission to Quality Management of incident related documents
• Manages petty cash funds assigned to the day program
• Provide clinical instruction to Habilitation Specialist 1’s in the community, when needed
• Additional duties as assigned by the Program Director
