Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Required for Contingent Permanent Appointment:
Current New York State employee with one year or more permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as an Assistant Superintendent of Construction.

OR

Minimum Qualifications for 55b/c or Provisional Appointment:

55b/c Eligible Candidates:
Candidates who are currently 55b/c eligible AND meet the minimum qualifications below may apply for this position. OR

Provisional Appointment:
Current Office of General Services employee with one year of permanent service as a Junior Superintendent of Construction;

OR

Individuals who meets the minimum qualifications below:

Either 1. an associate degree in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, architectural technology, or construction technology AND one year of qualifying experience as described
below; **

Or 2. three years of qualifying experience as described below. **

**Experience assisting in the management of multi-trade construction projects from inception to completion to include cost estimating, construction planning and scheduling; contract document reading and interpretation, including agreement and conditions, plans and specifications; and construction inspection to ensure compliance with building codes for construction projects.

Non-Qualifying Experience: Experience in constructing one single-family dwelling.

Duties Description Duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Perform and/or oversee construction supervision and inspection of medium sized, or a medium-sized portion of, large building construction projects to ensure adherence to specifications, contracts and good work standards.
• Review field orders, change orders, and all necessary paperwork.
• Assist Senior Superintendent and/or Building Construction Engineer on larger construction projects to ensure the contractor’s adherence to plans, specifications and generally accepted construction standards.

Additional Comments Downstate Location Pay: $3,026
