Duties Description This Temporary Assistance Specialist 1 position is located in the Contract Management and Quality Assurance (CMQA) Bureau, within Employment and Income Support Programs (EISP). CMQA has primary responsibility for management of a range of contracts with non-profit providers and supports a number of agency initiatives.

Duties of the position will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assisting the negotiation of contracts to ensure services are rendered in a cost-effective and high quality manner to low income New Yorkers throughout the state;
• Assisting the execution of contracts including taking steps to receive approval from Legal, Budget and Contract staff;
• On-site monitoring of social services districts and/or OTDA contractors to ensure services are being delivered consistent with State and federal requirements; and
• Supporting central office in a number of special projects required to fulfill the agency’s goals.

Additional Comments A full-time, permanent or contingent permanent appointment will be made. This position requires travel to off-site reviews throughout the state. If certified by Civil Service, mandatory reemployment list candidates must be considered first for appointment to this title.

Salary for Trainee 1 is $42,986.
