Minimum Qualifications Must have a license to practice medicine in New York State or have a current limited permit. Must be eligible for full unconditional participation in Medicare/caid. Must have a M.D., M.B.B.S. or D.O. and 1 year of post graduate training acceptable to the Liaison Committee or Graduate Medical Education 2 years subsequent.

Duties Description Conducts medical examinations of patients and coordinates treatment. Coordinates and supervises the treatment and care of an assigned group of patients. Supervises the health and patient care activities of nursing and other direct care staff. Orders supplies and equipment for the unit or program. Periodically inspects health care facilities and recommends and implements improvements. Develops and implements training programs for an assigned facility unit or program. Participants in discharge planning and approves the discharge of patients. May provide advanced treatment within a recognized medical specialty based on additional training and education. Develops and administers procedures and policies for the health services program, facilities and staff and assures that staff comply with them.
