Minimum Qualifications Preferred candidates:
- Must demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with a variety of constituents, including The Olana Partnership, donors, volunteers, researchers, contractors and park patrons;
- Must demonstrate knowledge of historical programming, collections management and historical interpretation;
- Possess leadership experience in historic preservation and community-based projects;
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license;
- Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities/activities;
- Possess the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with staff and park patrons, and prepare written material and reports as needed;
- Must be capable of coordinating teams and supervising employees;
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Onsite housing is available and will be discussed at the time of interview.

Duties Description The selected candidate will be the highest-ranking State Official at the Olana State Historic Site and is responsible for the overall development and management of the facility. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Manages and coordinates all activities at Olana State Historic Site;
• Recruits, trains, schedules, supervises and evaluates staff;
• Oversees and coordinates programming with The Olana Partnership (TOP) that operates the site's activities and with volunteer groups that provide additional support.
• Promotes the historic site and its programs with the public, local governments, community organizations, and educational groups in coordination with TOP.
• Inspects and evaluates facilities to determine the need for routine or emergency maintenance and major capital improvements and oversees maintenance and repair projects;
• Works with regional and agency staff and TOP on historic site development plans;
• Acts as a consultant on projects, coordinates and chairs meetings, and serves as a resource and advisor to the public, local governments, federal and state agencies, and other interested parties.
• Oversees the scheduling and use of historic site facilities in coordination with TOP;
• Reviews and approves expenditures and prepares and administers the budget;
• Prepares a variety of administrative and financial reports;
• Collaborates with TOP in planning exhibit development and selecting appropriate objects for inclusion in exhibits in historic buildings.
• Develops, implements and coordinates emergency preparedness and response procedures for patrons and employees and documents all emergencies and expenditures;
• Ensures safety of patrons and employees;
