Minimum Qualifications Interested candidates must be reachable on the Associate Accountant State Accounts & Systems,
SG-23, Civil Service eligible list OR must be eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
70.1 Transfer:
Individual must have one year of permanent competitive service in a qualifying title allocated to a grade 21 or higher.

Duties Description • Serve as subject matter expert for the Accounting Bureau General Ledger Unit with regard to the Redesign project:
o Provide technical accounting expertise and represents the Accounting Bureau General Ledger Unit as subject matter expert for general ledger Redesign Tasks.
o Assist with oversight and coordination of the work of the Redesign team with respect to the design, testing, and evaluation of processes and activities, including journal entries produced in PeopleSoft.
o Liaise between the Redesign team, Accounting Bureau, and Microsoft Dynamics vendor for the purpose of creating mutual understanding of how the PeopleSoft and Microsoft Dynamics interface will work and ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the interface.
o Assist in identifying and monitoring internal controls relating to the PeopleSoft journal entry interface in Microsoft Dynamics.

• Documentation of Redesign Project activities related to Accounting Bureau General Ledger Unit:
o Responsible for documenting the design, testing, and evaluation of General Ledger process and activities, including the journal entries produced in PeopleSoft. And interface of journal entries to Microsoft Dynamics.
o Documentation of procedures.

• Assist the Accounting Bureau Tax Services Unit with regard to the Redesign Project:
o Provide assistance to the Accounting Bureau Tax Services Unit in Redesign Project matters which can include attending meetings, reviewing functional designs, user acceptance testing and development of procedures.

• Assist other NYSLRS Bureaus with functional design matters as pertains to the Accounting Bureau General Ledger Unit with regard to the Redesign Project:
o Provide assistance to other NYSLRS Bureaus in relation to processes and expected outcomes as it relates to the impact on the general ledger and associated account reconciliations for contributions, loans, APB and on-member accounts. This can include attending meetings, reviewing functional designs and user acceptance testing for other NYSLRS Bureau.
