Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications:
-Bachelor's or higher level degree and five (5) years of experience in equal opportunity or affirmative action programs which included responsibility for recruitment, training, conducting investigations, and resolving conflict. Candidates must have experience working in a culturally diverse environment. Successful candidate must have excellent written and oral communication, human relations/interpersonal skills and excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
-The candidate must demonstrate the ability to build consensus; work collaboratively with others in a constructive and collegial manner; ability to implement a strategic plan based on a shared vision; proactively identify and analyze issues in the workplace and implement solutions. Strong analytical skill and ability to analyze, interpret and manage data and demonstrated knowledge of current trends and thinking concerning diversity and inclusion preferred.
Duties Description The Office of Information Technology Services is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Affirmative Action Programs. The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for the Affirmative Action and Diversity Program of ITS. Specific duties will include: preparation and monitoring of agency's affirmative action plan, including periodic reviews and revisions; handle all internal discrimination and sexual harassment complaints; respond to complaints filed with the NYS Division of Human Rights and/or federal EEOC; coordinate and participate in any compliance reviews; provide training to staff on all pertinent affirmation action/diversity programs; develop recruitment strategies to increase protected class representation in IT professional positions; handle all requests for Reasonable Accommodations filed by employees or job applicants; assist in the identification of MWBE programs and ensure agency compliance with all laws, rules, regulations and Executive Orders related to affirmative action/diversity programs.
