To be eligible for provisional appointment candidates must have:
Promotion Qualifications: One year of permanent, competitive or 55 b/c service as a Chief Security Officer, Grade 14 or Regional Security Supervisor, Grade 17.

Open Competitive Qualifications: Seven years of experience in managing the security and/or emergency management program for a public or private sector organization with multiple regional locations, or centralized security force staffed over multiple shifts. Two years of the experience must have included the supervision and training of security staff.
Duties Description Under the direction of a Property Manager 3, M-1 the Supervisor of Security Services will manage and direct the safety and security operations for 90 Department of Labor locations statewide. The incumbent will develop, implement and evaluate safety and security plans, procedures and internal controls; identify and resolve safety and security problems, issues or concerns and manage the selection, supervision, training and evaluation of a staff of security personnel in multiple regional locations. Duties also include, but are not limited to: providing technical expertise, direction and support to DOL managers, staff and regional partners on matters
relating to physical security; receiving and evaluating all Unusual Incident Reports for disruptive conduct, personal injury and/or theft; administering contracts with private security companies for contract guards, to supplement permanent security staff; overseeing the planning, development, implementation, operation and maintenance of the agency’s various security systems; coordinating with Worker Protection staff regarding training for department employees related to Workplace Violence Prevention and Domestic Violence Prevention; independently completing complex or sensitive security assignments, and preparing reports regarding safety and security issues for management review.
