Minimum Qualifications Provisional Minimum Qualifications: You must be a veteran of the US Armed Services who served on active duty for over 180 days for purposes other than training (unless you were released from active duty because of a service connected disability), received a discharge other than dishonorable and have the following:
• A bachelor’s degree
• Five years of experience in a full-time salaried position with responsibility for providing direct services to veterans.
Qualifying experience includes experience with an employment and training organization or veteran service organization in a position primarily involved in providing employment, education, training, counseling and technical assistance services to veterans. Two years of this experience MUST be at a managerial or supervisory level.
A master’s degree can be substituted for one year of general experience.

Duties Description The Deputy Veterans Program Administrator coordinates and administers activities and programs servicing veterans. The incumbent will assist developing new programs and initiatives, enforce veteran-oriented program objectives as established by State and Federal regulations and serve as the principal agency contact with regard to review and analysis of State and Federal reports. The duties will also include veteran program staff training, monitoring staffing patterns and preparing federal staffing reports. The incumbent will be involved in activities to develop and maintain effective relationships with veteran organizations, potential employers and other governmental agencies involved with services to veterans. Frequent travel is required, may include after hours weekends.
