Minimum Qualifications CIVIL SERVICE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must currently be serving in the title of Direct Support Assistant with The Office for People with Developmental Disabilities. Currently a non-probationary direct care employee. Some part-time probationary employees may continue to have rights under Section 61 of Civil Service Law to appointment to a greater part-time percent or to full-time employment.
Duties Description The award for this bid will be made on the ability to perform specific tasks as indicated below:
Duties
This position will be utilized as hands-on direct care staff and will be expected to perform duties in keeping with the direct care classification standards on file with the office of Human Resources Management.
A feature of this position is the need to provide initimate personal hygiene care to female consumer(s) who have directly and/or through their families expressed concern and sensitivity about their personal privacy.

Additional Comments This is a day/evening floater position for Cayuga County. The primary function will be to provide IRM staff time off relief between Charles and Osborne IRAs. This position may also provide relief to other sites in Cayuga County.
In accordance with CSEA ISU Article 32.2 the successful bidder may need to work evenings and days; as well as eight hour blocks, to complete their 40-hour work week. An informational session will be held before the award of a bid. It is encouraged that you schedule a site tour(s), before bidding.
Note: The successful bidder to this posting is advised that it will be their responsibility to discuss, with their new supervisor, any previously approved time off. There is no guarantee the new unit will be able to honor previously approved time.

*Please note that the filling of this position is dependent upon prior approval being obtained from OPWDD, Division of Budget, and the Department of Civil Service.
All OPWDD employees must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Continued employment will depend on maintaining eligibility.
