Minimum Qualifications Current permanent status as an Addictions Counselor 1 and qualified for a lateral transfer ~OR~ Eligible for appointment from the current Addictions Counselor 1 eligible list. Applicants must possess current registration as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in New York State. Continued employment in this title requires maintenance of credentials.

Duties Description The candidate will be primary case manager working with an average of 2-4 patients on their caseload. Tasks will include individual, group and family counseling, assessment, treatment planning and discharge planning. In addition crisis intervention, patient education, large and small group presentations, performance improvement activities as assigned and unit management functions. Supervision of subordinates may be required. Candidate will also be responsible for coordinating patient activities. The expectation is that 40% of candidate's time will be spent coordinating patient activity. Candidate must be eligible and maintain certification and Medicaid/Medicare eligibility will result in the termination of employment.
