Salary RangeFrom $67703 to $85635 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Five years of experience in technical operations in broadcast, production or integration, national network, local network television affiliate, cable news, commercial media transmission facility, or similar employment as broadcast engineer, uplink engineer, maintenance engineer, master control operator or broadcast systems integration.
Substitution: Associate’s degree may substitute for 2 years of experience. Degree must have been received from a regionally accredited college or university or one recognized by the New York State Education Department as following accepted educational practices.
Operational need: Certified Television Operator certificate from the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) or equivalent technical certification must be obtained within the first year of employment.
Duties Description Responsible for signal flow through satellite, fiber and webcast delivery systems. Duties will include, but not be limited to:
• Install, maintain, operate and troubleshoot systems including multimedia production equipment, satellite ground stations, satellite remote vehicles, fiber optic systems, multimedia file storage systems and internet delivery systems.
• Comply with all FCC regulations regarding the operation of satellite transmission systems.
• Provide crew services needed in the production of multimedia content and events.
Additional Comments NS is equated to salary grade 23.
