Minimum Qualifications NY HELPS:
This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).

For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title maybe filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.

At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.

NON-COMPETITIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent, contingent permanent, or 55 B/C service allocated to a Grade 4 or higher eligible for transfer and determined to be similar by Civil Service.

Duties Description The Office Assistant 1 duties in the Division of Corporations, State Records, & Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) will include but are not limited to the following:
• Uses Oracle Processing System to record payment information, document information and review, accept or reject and scan UCC documents. Payments should be reviewed for fee sufficiency. Payment information must be recorded accurately including cash, check and credit card amounts. Document types must be entered accurately. When the method of payment is a drawdown account, it is imperative that the appropriate account codes are entered and verified for accuracy on the screen and during the reconciliation process. Selecting the incorrect drawdown account due to inaccuracy of information and incorrect entry of document types constitutes critical errors which will weigh heavily in the performance of this task.
• Perform document and data reconciliation using the UCC Revenue Report.
• Perform data entry of summons documents into the Cenuity System. This requires a thorough review of the summons and associate documentation for accuracy and acceptability to ensure that summons complies with the corporate statue for service of process.
• Perform a thorough examination of the summons that has been reviewed and completed through the Cenuity System by first printing the transmittal letters and certified labels associated with the summons document and then reviewing each summons document.
• Perform reconciliation of summons by printing the Operating Daily Revenue Report and reviewing this report for payment type and accuracy.
