Minimum Qualifications Two years of satisfactory experience in a large commercial or institutional laundry, one year of which must have been as a lead worker or serving in a supervisory capacity over employees, inmates or working patients.
Duties Description Supervise a staff of inmate laundry workers in a state facility laundry. Provide supervision, guidance and oversight, intervene/resolve problems, approve and track time and attendance, complete performance evaluations, identify training needs, plan work schedules, inspect laundry area for sanitary/safety standards, make adjustment/lubricate equipment according to manuals; notify general mechanic of breakdowns, test water samples and change washing formulas as necessary. Prepare and post written formulas for washing/rinsing compound and temperatures/pressures required. Ensure all hazardous materials are stored properly and MSDS sheets are readily available. Train workers, prepare requisitions for laundry equipment, materials and supplies. Maintain records of production supplies used; perform any laundry operation as needed. Schedule/conduct periodic staff meetings to discuss staffing, production schedules, rates and problems. Processing between 20 and 40 dry tons of laundry per month.
