One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as a Junior Engineer, Junior Architect, Principal Drafting Technician (General), Principal Drafting Technician (Architectural), Principal Drafting Technician (Electrical), Principal Drafting Technician (Mechanical), Principal Drafting Technician (Structural), Junior Mechanical Specifications Writer, Junior Architectural Specifications Writer, Junior Landscape Architect, Assistant Superintendent of Construction, Junior Mechanical Estimator, or Junior Architectural Estimator.

Six years of experience in building construction, which must have included at least one year of managing building construction projects with a construction cost of at least $500,000 as described below:
Experience managing building construction projects shall include direct supervision of subordinate staff AND three or more of the following areas: construction planning, cost estimating, project scheduling, material purchasing, resource management (including manpower, material and equipment scheduling) and contract document reading and interpretation.
Substitution: An associate's degree in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering technology, construction technology, building science or architectural technology may substitute for two years of experience. A bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering technology, construction technology, building science, or architectural technology may substitute for four years of experience.
Duties Description Responsible for assisting the Lease Compliance/Construction Manager and resolving any issues between landlords and tenant agency and assume responsibility for the management of assigned projects. Develop project schedules, monitor progress and keep management informed on status. Maintain lease compliance record file and database. Will also assist with planning, development and construction oversight of new and rehabilitated facilities that are leased by the State; communicate with client agencies, landlords, architects and engineers; develop project schedules, update and maintain progress records; participate in on-site construction observations, review consultant proposals, estimates and reports; oversee client agencies’ relocation plans.
Additional Comments Some travel is required.
